Curriculum

At SISUBS, our team of dedicated and committed professionals delivers an academic program that prepares students for success at university and beyond. The missions of SISUBS is to develop the creativity, communication, cooperation, critical thinking and cross-cultural understanding of each student in an environment that is at once academically rigorous and supportive of the needs of the whole person.

Our high school curriculum integrates the very best elements from the Chinese and Western models of education to provide our students with a wide variety of courses within a structure that supports their becoming independent lifelong learners.

SISUBS is fully accredited to offer both Advanced Placement (AP) and Advanced Level (A Level) courses as part of our High School Diploma program (accreditation from the College Board (USA) and CIE (UK) respectively).

In addition to the high school’s focus on academics, SISUBS emphasizes character education and a commitment to global citizenship and responsibility. Beyond the classroom, the majority of our students choose to participate in competitive athletic programs, academic competitions in various subject areas, music and cultural performances, and other diverse clubs, many of which focus on community service.

Ultimately, the high school experience at SISUBS centers on developing the attributes and achievements that each student needs to meet his or her goals and aspirations.

AP

The Advanced Placement (AP) program allows students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. The program consists of college-level courses developed by the AP Program and corresponding exams that are administered once a year. With the authority of the College Board, the AP program has been approved widely by around 3700 universities from 57 different regions around the world. Additionally, the results of AP exams affect the enrollment and scholarship of the most famous universities.

Action without study is fatal.

A Level

A Levels are the traditional route to British universities for the vast majority of students from Britain and around the world. They are highly valued by universities since they involve a rigorous and in-depth engagement with a subject. Typically, a student takes 3 or 4 subjects to A Level, and universities consider them to be an excellent preparation for degree study within higher education.
