The counselling staff deliver this professional service through a comprehensive three-year plan.\n      <\/p>\n      <p class=\"text-body\">\n        Beginning in the 10th grade, all students, in addition to taking the college-counselling class, have individual consultations with the school\u2019s college counsellor. These initial meetings allow the students to gain a general understanding of the American and British Education systems, standardized tests, college life and the importance of extra-curricular activities. Students complete these classes and consultations having gained a clear idea about what they themselves should be doingtoprepareforfuturesuccessintheircollege applications.\n      <\/p>\n      <p class=\"text-body\">\n        In the 11th grade, the guidance counselor starts to have individual consultations with parents and students to discuss in detail the procedures and necessary planning for college preparation. In addition, the guidance counselor assists students in applying for summer school and offers guidance andsupport in the students\u2019writing ofapplication essaysand personalstatements.
